The King of the Flat Tops meets the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll! This guitar’s decked-out ebony look is based on a model that Elvis Presley commonly used live in the mid-1960s, gifted to him in the legendary RCA Studio B in Nashville. Apart from the stark black finish that perfectly complements a white rhinestone jumpsuit (not included), the Gibson Acoustic-electric Elvis SJ-200 features a blinged-out bridge with mother-of-pearl hourglass and teardrop inlays, gold Grover keystone tuners, and a truss rod cover emblazoned with the King’s name. Once you get past the royal adornments, this guitar is a jumbo powerhouse, boasting the classic SJ-200 combo of a Sitka spruce top and maple back and sides — ideal for strumming out huge, punchy chords. Plus, if you’re looking to bust out some classic Elvis tunes at your next gig, the inclusion of an LR Baggs VTC pickup means that this guitar is stage ready right out of the box!
Top-notch tonewoods
The Gibson Acoustic Elvis SJ-200 is a member of Gibson's famed line of Super Jumbo guitars, some of the best strumming accompaniment guitars ever made. The Sitka spruce top produces a strong, clear voice while the flame maple back and sides add a midrange boost and a dash of treble strength that cuts through a mix, without the overwhelming bass that a dreadnought can sometimes produce. It’s no surprise that the SJ-200 was one of Elvis’s favorites — while the King deferred most of the guitar playing duties to Scotty Moore, he often served as the rhythm foundation during live performances, a role that guitarists find the Elvis SJ-200 excels at.
All the bling you can ask for
As Gibson's top-of-the-line acoustic, the SJ-200 certainly looks the part — and the Elvis SJ-200 manages to take it even further! When you look at it from the front, you'll notice stunning ornamentation and detailed inlay work. From the headstock to the bridge, pearl is everywhere. mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays decorate the fingerboard while the Moustache bridge is bursting with MOP hourglass and teardrop inlays. However, the real star of the show is the engraved pickguard, which showcases a delicate flowering pattern. With beautiful and bold aesthetics, the SJ-200 was one of the select few guitars that could match the King’s larger-than-life personal.
Amazing sound onstage
The Gibson Elvis SJ-200 Standard comes with LR Baggs's popular VTC acoustic pickup system, a popular choice among acoustic guitarists. This system features a low-profile under-saddle transducer that enhances the coupling between the pickup and the guitar for a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound with excellent dynamics and delicate high end. Combined with an onboard preamplifier with an unobtrusive and removable volume control, mounted just inside the soundhole, the VTC gives your SJ-200 the amplification you need, with zero compromises for tone or convenience.
